Erebus Motorsport’s Betty Klimenko couldn’t be happier to nab a podium finish at the opening round of the 2018 Supercars season at Adelaide last week.

Reynolds only just missed out on a podium during Saturday’s mini-marathon with a fourth place, although was able to get the job done on Sunday with second.

“The entire team did an outstanding job over the weekend and it’s shown the direction we are headed,” Team Owner Betty Klimenko said.

“We’re not going to get caught up in what could have been, the fact is we walked away from the weekend knowing we did our job and delivered the team’s and David’s best ever result at Adelaide.

“I have always believed in Dave and his ability to win and am so proud of the entire team.”

Anton De Pasquale also lead the hotly-contested rookie battle in both weekend’s races, scoring a 19th and 17th placed finish.

“I think Anton proved he deserves to be here,” Klimenko said.

“Out of all five new drivers, he is the only one not to have driven in the main series before, but out-performed not only them but drivers with a lot more experience.”

Reynolds and De Pasquale now sit second and 15th in the driver’s championship, while the team are fourth in points.

“There’s more to come, we’re building up momentum and pushing up the pointy end,” Klimenko said.

“I said last year, ‘I want points’, and at the end of the day that will come down to consistency.

“Our goal is to finish every race in the best position we can, come home with clean cars and gather points.

“If we come home with a few wins and podiums along the way, then I am very happy.”
