Erebus Motorsport has assigned former Team Principal Bruin Beasley a new role ahead of this weekend’s Phillip Island 500.

Beasley steps up to Team Manager, after holding diverse key roles within the team for the last two years.

“I am really looking forward to the new challenge and having been part of the management team for a while now means it will be a simple and fluid transition,” Beasley said.

“I hope my previous experience will further push the team forward and take it to the level needed to match our car speed.”

Beasley brings more than three decades of motorsport experience at the highest level; a long-time team manager and Championship winning team owner for Minda Motorsport, plus now MTEC Motorsport in the Toyota Racing Series.

Beasley added that he hopes to bring more than just experience, aiding support for Team Owner Betty Klimenko and General Manager Barry Ryan.

“Betty’s daily input will always be critical to the success of Erebus, it goes without saying that everyone does and can learn a lot off Betty and her racing, business and life experience,” Ryan said.

Speaking of the new appointment, Ryan believes it will help the Melbourne-based squad better perform in all areas, not just on-track.

“Since becoming General Manager in late 2012 I’ve entrenched myself in multiple facets of the business, primarily to cement our programs and ensure I kept my finger firmly on the pulse,” Ryan said.

“Erebus has grown rapidly on-track, now we need to follow this with our team structure and push the team to the next level.

“Streamlining our team, starting with management, is what we need to do to keep up with the positive steps we have made recently on track.

“I’ve known Bruin a long time and he has also been across several roles since he started working with us mid-2016.

“Bruin’s extensive experience will compliment our management group and allow myself and Dennis (Huijser, Crew Chief) to focus on our own individual tasks more thoroughly.”

The Phillip Island 500 kicks off this Friday, with the team on track from 11:25am.
