Erebus Motorsport has recorded another top ten finish after a dramatic final race at the Australian Grand Prix today.
Not for the first time this weekend, Wood was tangled up at Turn 1 as the field attempted to find their way through.
Moffat was spun around, leaving the field with nowhere to go. With Wood squeezed between Blanchard and Tander, the #99 was subsequently forced to pit with damage to the left-front.
Reynolds made it safely through the opening laps and battled hard with Pye, before his tyres deteriorated and was unable to keep the pace.
The #9 driver did his best to keep Davison and Bright behind him, but eventually yielded to 10th position.
The team now have just five days to prepare their cars for the Tasmania SuperSprint, April 7 – 9.
David Reynolds – #9 Erebus Penrite Racing
“Today we started ninth and I lost a couple spots to finish tenth. I was quite pacey at the start and I tried to pass Scott Pye but he made it hard, we both raced well but then the tyres went off.
“We had a bit of a swing with setup again to try something different and probably went too far again, but you’ve got to try new things and I think if we had our time again we could come back with a much neater setup, and a much quicker car.”
Dale Wood – #99 Erebus GB Galvanizing Racing
“I got caught up in Turn 1 drama, someone spun in front of me and I couldn’t get around him quick enough so it grabbed the left front corner of my car and did enough damage that it was rubbing on the tyre and I don’t think we could have kept going.
“We had two good fun races, and two not so good. I think we learnt lots about the car and made some changes that are potentially really good, I think we are well and truly heading in the right direction. You’ve always got to qualify well to race up the front though and we paid the price twice this weekend, we had lots of good battles that we came out on the right side of, but today wasn’t in our favour.”
