Erebus Motorsport has continued to push forward during Race 3 of the Australian Grand Prix today.
David Reynolds and Dale Wood started 6th and 21st on the grid, after qualifying in Thursday’s 10-minute session.
Wood, lucky to get out of a Turn 1 tangle unscathed, moved up a position before the end of the opening lap.
Reynolds showed steady pace and although unable to keep pace with James Courtney, he kept Michael Caruso at bay; the top seven finishing the 13-laps as they’d started, with Reynolds in 6th.
Wood was quicker to move and looked for any gap, which saw him amongst a big three-wide battle between Bright and Blanchard. The #99 driver came out in front to take the checkered flag in 16th.
The fourth and final race of the weekend takes place at 1:05pm local time tomorrow.
David Reynolds – #9 Erebus Penrite Racing
“It was a much better race today, we went with a similar setup to race one and straight away it was ten times better. I got a reasonable start, hung on the outside of Courtney and tried to find my way around him but I couldn’t so I conceded and slotted in behind him.
“I tried to hang with him but he was quite fast so he drove away but then it was Caruso and myself having a battle for the remainder of the race.”
Dale Wood – #99 Erebus GB Galvanizing Racing
“I got caught up in a bit of turn 1 action which put us virtually to the back but from then on had a good fun race and was able to make lots of passes.
“We had decent pace, still lacking just a little bit; I think we’ve got the pace to be inside the top ten but we were coming from a long way back.
“We had a good fun race, found ourselves in lots of battles and most the time came out on the right side of them and got to make up a bunch of ground and move back up through the field, so definitely some positives from today.”
