Boost Mobile Racing powered by Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki has scored the team’s best result at Winton today, catapulting himself inside the top ten and up to 7th.
The #99 driver, who started his 50th Supercars race from P11, got a terrific start and was quick to move up two spots.
Will, who started from the second row, made a fast getaway and went around the outside of Turn 1 as he tried to take 2nd. He eventually settled for 3rd and was looking strong in a podium-threatening position.
Will’s race changed though when he entered pit lane at the end of lap 12 for left-side rubber. The clutch in the #9 Holden failed when waiting for fresh rubber and ultimately resulted in a problem with the rear tyre going on.
Will toppled down the field and was ruled out of the game when later handed a pit lane penalty for unsafe rotating wheels.
Brodie on the other hand pit at the end of lap 17, and with the perfect pit stop, was sent smoothly on his way.
He was the only driver to make his way inside the top ten, moving up four spots to 7th by the end of the closing lap.
The team now look to capitalise on their fast pace in tomorrow’s back-to-back qualifying, ahead of two more races.
