Boost Mobile Racing powered by Erebus has confirmed an unchanged driver line-up of Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki until the end of 2024.
Confirmation of the team’s plans sees Brown line up for a sixth consecutive season under the Erebus banner, first signing with the Melbourne-based squad in 2018 as a co-driver and then linking with Erebus-affiliated Image Racing in 2020.
Both he and Kostecki made their full-time main game debut last year; Kostecki making the step up after just one season co-driving for the team.
“It’s awesome to re-sign with Erebus and have that continuity and loyalty with the team as we go into the next chapter,” Brown said.
“Our journey together has been great so far and I want to thank Betty and Barry for their continued support.”
Brown became the latest Supercars race winner in Sydney last year, racking up a total of three podiums and one pole position all in his first full-time season.
“There’s a lot of great people in the team, and we’ve seen throughout the last year that we can run right up the front,” Brown said.
“I’ve got a great teammate in Brodie, and I wouldn’t want anyone else in the seat next to me. We’re both young, hungry drivers that want to do the best we can.
“Moving forward into Gen3 it’s going to be really important to have two solid drivers with a good team around you trying to push each other forward. I think we’ll be able to show what we can do and what we’re capable of.”
Crediting their early success to their personal relationships not only with each other but with the whole team, Kostecki is equally as pleased to re-sign.
“Erebus is my family so it’s very exciting for me to be able to re-sign and look forward to the next two years together,” Kostecki said.
“We had a great start together last year in my rookie season and a great start to this year, and we continue to strive to be better.”
Kostecki was a podium finisher at Sandown in only his fifth race as a full-timer last year, while he ended 2021 with a stunning run to third at Bathurst.
Momentum continued in the early part of this year with the #99 driver achieving his first Supercars pole position and fourth podium at Sydney Motorsport Park.
“We’ve had some great results together and I want to make sure we can keep moving forward into Gen3.”
“We have a great culture, and the team works very well together, and I know that’s going to be really important going into next year with a new car.”
Erebus Motorsport team owner Betty Klimenko is pleased her team’s drivers are both in it for the long haul.
“Brodie and Will have been great team-mates and we have been able to build the team around them,” Klimenko said.
“They’ve done an amazing job so far and represented our team like true professionals on and off the track.
“The consistency and stability now within the team gives me confidence that we are only going to continue to grow.”
Meanwhile Erebus CEO Barry Ryan says Kostecki and Brown are ‘the only drivers we want’.
“After bringing Brodie and Will into the main game as rookies last season, they are still both the only drivers we want to lead our team into Gen3 and what will be a critical first two seasons,” Ryan said.
“They have been unquestionably loyal to Erebus and have committed to being here long term, and that’s something we’re very proud of.
“Great teams are hard to create and having our two drivers signed for our next journey together compliments the commitment and loyalty of the rest of our team and our goal to get to the top of Supercars.
“We still have a lot we are targeting for 2022 and we will be giving our all to win races and really target being the final team to win Bathurst in the current cars.”
Kostecki and Brown will be back on track at The Bend Motorsport Park this afternoon for qualifying at 1:30pm ACST.
