Brodie Kostecki has secured his best Gold Coast finish of 7th today, while teammate Will Brown suffered power steering dramas.
Brodie started from the front of the field in 8th and got away well, holding his position through the tricky front chicane.
Will, who was behind him in P17, had a flyer and made up two spots before they made their way to Turn 5.
Pit stops started at the end of lap 8, and it was one lap later that the #9 driver stopped for fresh rubber and fuel.
The crew remained on standby for the #99, with Brodie stopping at the end of lap 26.
It was four laps later that Will made another unscheduled stop after his power steering failed heading into the beach chicane. He hit the tyre bundle on the way through and drove back to pit lane for repairs.
With only 20-minutes to get the car out and reach the minimum required laps, the crew got the car back out on lap 42, now 15 laps down.
On lap 46, Brodie pit for last splash of fuel and tyres, for his run to the end.
Will stopped for the final time on lap 62 of the race, before reaching the checkered flag on lap 85.
Brodie took his best Gold Coast finish in 7th, while Will couldn’t do much and came in 24th.
The team line-up for another 250-kilometres on the streets of Surfers Paradise, with qualifying kicking off proceedings from 9:55am local time.
