Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus driver Brodie Kostecki showcased an impressive performance in Race 13 at Hidden Valley, securing a solid 4th place. Meanwhile, his teammate was the biggest mover of the day, ultimately finishing in a commendable 7th position.
At the start, Brodie made a strong getaway from 1oth place, but it was Will who truly stood out. Despite being hindered by James Golding during qualifying, the #9 pilot started in a lowly 19th position and swiftly climbed five spots by the end of the opening lap.
A fire incident involving Cam Waters prompted the deployment of the first Safety Car on lap 4, leading to a double stack. Brodie led the team into the pit, making a brief stop, followed by Will’s pit stop.
Upon the restart, Brodie found himself in 5th place, with Will in 12th. As the race resumed, Will continued to advance, impressively making his way up to P8 before the completion of the lap 10.
On lap 15, a grass fire necessitated the second Safety Car; bunching the field up for a final time. Brodie, in 5th, led the charge with Shane van Gisbergen and Will close behind.
The race resumed for the last time on lap 18, and intense action ensued. While van Gisbergen defended against Will’s advances, Brodie established a substantial gap to the pair.
In the closing laps, Brodie managed to overtake Bryce Fullwood, securing his 4th place finish. Meanwhile, Will delivered an outstanding performance, making a remarkable gain of 12 positions and finishing in an impressive 7th place.
The team is now gearing up for two more races tomorrow, with qualifying commencing at 9:30 am ACST, marking the start of the day’s action.
