Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki has extended his points lead, securing his fourth win of the season and the team’s first win at Tailem Bend.
The #99 driver grabbed his 6th Supercars pole position with the second biggest pole winning margin seen at the Bend, but quickly found himself down in third after a tricky start.
Meanwhile his teammate Will Brown started from P8, though was caught on the outside of Turn 1 facing the wrong way on the opening lap.
The first-corner clash was deemed a racing incident, though ultimately came from Jack Le Brocq who was squeezed and left with nowhere to go but into the rear bumper of Wil, ending his race.
The race resumed at the end of lap 4, and Brodie was on the charge. He got by Chaz Mostert on lap 7 for second, and Thomas Randle for the lead on lap 11.
The Coca-Cola Camaro stopped for two tyres on lap 13, and with seven laps to go, re-emerged in the lead.
Brodie is now 80 points clear atop the standings, meanwhile Will’s DNF sees him drop to 4th. Erebus still lead the teams’ points as they go into the final day at the Bend, with qualifying kicking off proceedings at 9:45am local time.
