Erebus Academy and Image Racing have conducted testing at Winton Motor Raceway for Jordan Boys ahead of his upcoming Super2 stint at the Adelaide 500.
Though Boys boasts five years of experience in the Super2 category and has secured seven podiums in that time, the 26-year-old has not competed in the Dunlop Series since 2021.
Having an already established relationship with Image Racing and Erebus, yesterday’s test was about re-familiarising Boys with the Super2 vehicle after competing in the 2023 Gen3 endurance season.
“Although we lost a lot of time with the rain yesterday morning, overall the test was really positive for myself and the team,” Boys said.
“We mainly focused on getting me back into the swing of things and I felt pretty comfortable straight away so the team and I are really happy with where we got to.
“We also got the chance to work on some qualifying simulation stuff which seemed to go really well and is something that’s going to be really important at Adelaide.”
Erebus CEO Barry Ryan is pleased with the team’s inaugural season in the Dunlop Series and is grateful for the continued support from Image Racing, team sponsors and the drivers.
“Erebus debuted in the Super2 series this year with Jack Perkins at the wheel and we will conclude with Jordan Boys in Adelaide,” Ryan said.
“Image Racing has been a huge support in the program with management, taking the car to the track and providing additional staff as required.
“We want to thank Terry and Dana Wyhoon for their commitment to our team, as well as our loyal partners in Shaw and Partners, SCTR, Coca-Cola, Snap-on and Metamark in our inaugural season.”
In addition to yesterday’s test, Boys will assist at Calder Park Motorsport Complex today as Image Racing and Erebus Academy run a driver evaluation day with a V8 Touring Car at the track.
The Super2 season finale kicks off next week at the Adelaide 500, 23 – 26 November.
