The second day of racing presented its fair share of challenges for Academy drivers Jarrod Hughes and Jobe Stewart, who finished 10th and 22nd respectively.
A sunny qualifying session saw Jarrod secure 3rd on the grid and Jobe 15th.
Jarrod’s Race 2 start saw him drop down into 6th into first corner, with Jobe battling surrounding cars to remain in position.
Jobe found himself tangled in a multi-car crash just moments later, causing significant damage to the front of the car. With several cars stationary at Turn 3, Jobe managed to continue up into 11th place, with Jarrod losing position ahead dropping into 8th at the completion of Lap 1.
A five second drive through penalty saw Jobe drop to 21st shortly after.
With 26 minutes to go Jobe was passed, moving him into 23rd before Chahda retired moving him back into 22nd. Jarrod battled Sinni and Dalton before getting caught out dropping into 9th with Vidau right behind.
Jarrod and Jobe fought hard to maintain position for the remainder of the race before Jarrod was passed by Vidau with 2 minutes to go.
Both Academy drivers remain in the Top 10 of the championship with Jarrod in 5th and Jobe in 8th.
