The race kicked off with Brodie initially losing ground, dropping to 4th place, while Jack made a strong start, climbing to 21st by the end of the first lap. However, by Lap 4, Brodie found himself in 5th losing ground to Mostert.

As the race progressed, the first round of pit stops began to shape the field. With 38 laps remaining, Brodie held onto 5th, and Jack was in 20th. Jack then pitted with 37 laps to go, rejoining in 24th.

Lap 28 saw Jack attempt to pass on Courtney on the outside down the back straight, positioning himself on the outside into the final corner which forced him wide, allowing both Courtney and Stanaway to undercut him, dropping Jack back to 22nd. Meanwhile, Brodie had moved up to 2nd, still to pit.

Lap 32 saw Brodie finally head into the pits, rejoining the race in 9th, while Jack continued to hold 21st. By Lap 40, Brodie had climbed back up to 6th and Jack improved to 17th.

As the race entered its final stages, Brodie pushed into the top 5 by Lap 50, while Jack continued his steady climb, reaching 15th.

On Lap 51, Jack was involved in another scuffle with Courtney which saw him drop to 19th. He was then hit by Evans, causing him to spin out and fall to the back of the field. The stewards reviewed the incident and handed Evans a 15-second penalty for a driving infringement, which left Jack to be elevated to P23 after the conclusion of the race.

Brodie closed out the afternoon crossing the line in 5th place, and the crew will work overnight to repair the battle scars to the Tyrepower rocket ready for Sunday!
