Erebus Motorsport have shown they have the moves to take it to the big boys after rounding out the Phillip Island 500 with a podium.
After a tough morning’s qualifying, Reynolds and Wood wanted to redeem themselves, and that is what they did.
A solid start by both drivers saw Reynolds move up one spot and Wood five before the third corner.
Keeping out of trouble, the first Safety Car was deployed on the opening lap with both cars pitting for their first stops.
Wood, forced to double stack, came out 19th while Reynolds managed to maintain his tenth spot.
Once the lights went out, Reynolds displayed incredible pace and made a move down the inside of Rick Kelly before attacking Slade and Courtney.
The second Safety car was called on lap 25 and with both drivers making stops, there was enough fuel on board to make it home.
Sitting sixth and 11th for the sprint to the finish, both Erebus drivers were reminded to manage their tyres to ensure they’d last the distance.
It all paid off when the last car made their final stop, shuffling the order and placing Reynolds in third, with Wood not far away in eighth.
The team now look forward to the Perth SuperSprint, in under two weeks’ time.

“Fantastic finish to a pretty good weekend. We were fast in practice, we were pretty good yesterday qualifying eighth which was ruined by dramas in the race, so to qualify 11th and finish third is fantastic.
“The unfortunate bit is I wish I allowed myself to push a bit harder at the end there but I didn’t know how the tyres would hold up. I was probably giving away 1.5-seconds a lap; the last ten laps I really backed off so I wish I had a big crack and I think we could have been higher again.
“My car was really good; great in the first stint, a little bit worse in the second stint for balance but otherwise it was a fantastic race car and easy to drive. I was able to make some good passes and Dale also did a fantastic job. It’s great for the team to have two cars in the top eight.”

“I got a really good start after a poor qualifying position, had a good opening lap and was able to pick up a few spots. We got a safety car early and had to queue which was a bummer but it’s the usual thing, so we lost a few spots there. I was able to gain a few through the next stint and we had OK pace.
“We stacked again and lost a few spots, but again I was able to make up a few. We were in a pretty good position for fuel so that was really good and we could make up spots there. I didn’t have the pace to keep Tander and Lowndes away when we came out on cold tyres, but when they came good I felt our pace was good. I was able to keep the Nissan’s behind us and keep my eyes forward.
“It’s awesome to have a top ten and grouse to have two cars up there.”
