Bathurst 1000 Champions Erebus Motorsport have unveiled David Reynolds’ ZB Commodore today, with a glimpse of what’s to come this season.

The team’s new-look car features a few tweaks to the familiar satin finish, with the addition of some bold red and aggressive-looking lines.

“It looks mean, it looks fast, I’m really looking forward to getting out there,” Reynolds said.

This year marks his third season with Erebus, taking them to a career-best finish in the Drivers Championship with seventh last year.

“We’re the small team with a lot of passion and fight in us,” he said.

“Honestly, it’s better than I imagined and we have evolved so much as a team.”

Erebus has been labelled this year’s Championship dark horse, after proving their worth last season.

The Melbourne-based squad beat some of the categories heavyweights, and were rewarded a best ever finish of fifth in the team’s point score, in addition to victory at Bathurst.

“The car is pretty black, so we can’t get much darker,” the joker laughed, “it’s a cool tag to go into the year with.”

The team, who now enter their sixth season, are seen by many as the ones most likely to give the bigger teams a real challenge in 2018.

“A lot of people counted us out in the beginning and didn’t think we could make anything of it, but we just needed time to work it out,” Team Owner Betty Klimenko said.

“I always believed in my team and what they could do, now everyone else can see that too.

“There’s no reason we can’t be up there and be considered one of the sports top dogs.”

The team resonated Klimenko’s comments, using the Twitter hashtag #allbetsareoff on a short online video (https://youtu.be/AsdN496sAfY).

Reynolds hits the track with a shakedown today at Winton, while Anton De Pasquale will also complete one of his rookie days, prior to the all-in Sydney test later this week.

General Manager Barry Ryan commented, “today’s test allows us to evaluate how the new car compared to the old car.

“I am confident we will be on top of that quickly and we will continue to build our team for further advances, not only on track, but off track.”

Today’s laps will be the first for De Pasquale since he tested with the team last August.

“Anton is a really exciting addition to our team and we are so excited to bring a multiple Championship-winning young talent into the Supercar Series.”
