Erebus Penrite Racing’s David Reynolds has been handed second place following an overnight investigation.

A 25-second time penalty has stripped Shane van Gisbergen of his Saturday win and dropped him to fifth at Newcastle, boosting David to the second spot.

Stewards confirmed the time penalty this morning following an investigation into an alleged refuelling breach at his third pitstop. The fuel hose remained connected when the car was being dropped to the ground, which contravenes regulations.

The season’s final race will take place this afternoon 3:40pm local time.
