David acknowledged the team’s efforts and is a realist as the team works tirelessly to find the tenths he seeks.

“It’s not from a lack of trying that we aren’t up the front. The team continues to try new things to improve the car and our race pace was consistent and solid”.

David has given his engineer’s some feedback following today’s race, so General Manager Barry Ryan and the team will work overnight in hope of finding more speed for tomorrow.

“Data makes you rich and successful in this sport and we only have what we have obtained from yesterday and today, so under the circumstances we are doing ok. We need to be mindful this is the first time we have raced this car at Phillip Island”, said Ryan.

Aaren Russell is motivated to improve. The likeable Novocastrian is understandably frustrated with his results, however is optimistic with what the future will bring.

“I am frustrated. We went in a different direction with car setup to Dave and I am not positive it was right. I’m learning the track, the car and it’s a lot to take in all at once. We will make some changes over night and I hope to be more competitive tomorrow”.
