Sunday Qualifying saw both cars make the 10, albeit with neither drive unable to capitalise with a tow, with Brodie finishing Q3 in P8 while Jack was able to snag 5th position on the grid.
Come race time, Jack missed the start, dropping back to 8th place, while Brodie made an early gain, moving to 6th. Brodie was then quick to make his presence felt, overtaking Fullwood on the outside at the hairpin on lap 2 to claim 5th. He then began pressuring Reynolds, leading to a bold attempt to pass on the inside at the hairpin. However, this maneuver didn’t go as planned, resulting in contact which left Reynolds marooned and a call for the safety car.
During the safety car period, both drivers pitted, with Jack first followed by Brodie. Unfortunately, upon release, Brodie collided with Frostie as he entered the Team 18 garage adjacent, leading to significant damage to the front left of the #1 car. The team was forced to push the car into the crash bay for repairs before he rejoined the race at the back of the pack.
Jack, who rejoined from his stop in 6th place, quickly moved up to 5th after the restart on lap 14. Brodie’s troubles compounded when he was handed multiple penalties—a 15-second penalty for a driving infringement with the contact with Reynolds, followed by two drive-through penalties for speeding in the pit lane and an unsafe release.
By laps 22 and 23, a collision between Love and Evans at Turn 1 brought out another full safety car. At this stage, Jack maintained his 5th position, while Brodie held 23rd.
Lap 33 saw Jack lose his 5th place to Feeney at the hairpin, dropping him to 6th.
With 20 laps remaining, Jack slipped further to 7th after being overtaken by Mostert. However, on lap 50, Jack managed to reclaim two positions after cars 88 and 55 were involved in an incident, with Randle making contact with Feeney at the hairpin. Randle then attempted to chased down Jack, but Jack held his ground to finish the race in 5th place.
The focus now shifts to the upcoming enduros, starting with the Sandown 500.
