Erebus Motorsport race car driver David Reynolds proved third fastest on day one in Townsville for the Virgin Supercars Championship.

The likeable Victorian from Albury took first in the first session and fifth in the second. His time of 1.12.8272 was the fifth fastest combine of the day.

“This is a great result for the team. It’s the first time we have set the fastest pace in a practice session and been inside the top five following day 1 of any round. We can’t forget this practice but it something strong we can build on”.

General Manager Barry Ryan who is engineering car 9 is confident the team is moving in the right direction, but explains that the team can’t get ahead of themselves –

“This is just practice; however it’s the only 80 minutes of the weekend we get to dedicate 100% to set up. To be inside the top 5 overall with both sessions combine is a credit to Dave and the team”.

The team will now compile all of the information they have collected from both sessions and work forward in preparation for qualifying tomorrow.
