Erebus Motorsport is keeping one of their test days up their sleeve, opting to run an Evaluation Day tomorrow at Winton Motor Raceway.

With only three test days allowed per team each season, and the compulsory pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park accounting for one of those, track time outside of a race weekend is very scarce.

Carrera Cup and GT driver Dylan O’Keeffe and Super 2 driver Adam Marjoram will therefore both share Anton De Pasquale’s #99 Holden.

“We have a few things we want to try before Darwin, but we didn’t want to waste one of our test days,” CEO Barry Ryan said.

“It’s a great chance for us to test some non-critical performance items and also give some talented young drivers an opportunity to work with us.”

Adam Marjoram has previously competed for the team in V8 Utes and currently runs an ex-Erebus Holden in Super 2.

“We have had an association with Adam for a long time so it was an easy fit to get him along,” Ryan said.

“We’ve also been watching Dylan for a while and he’s really stepped up this year, plus being local makes it easy.”

Heading into the back part of the season with two full test days remaining can play a pivotal part in shaping the championship fight.

The team have one more test day, plus a rookie day for Anton De Pasquale, before the usual pre-enduro test in September.

“Saving our remaining tests for critical performance items in the upcoming months will also ensure we keep developing and testing these items in a clear structured way,” Ryan said.

“We’ll also replicate what we did last year, using a test day purely for enduro’s.

“It served us well so we will do the same again just prior to Sandown.”

David Reynolds will also be at Winton tomorrow to carry out the permitted ten laps by a primary driver.
