Erebus Penrite Racing has unveiled a limited edition livery that its two Holden’s will carry for this weekend’s Bathurst 1000.
The Commodore’s driven by reigning winners David Reynolds and Luke Youlden, as well as rookie pairing Anton De Pasquale and Will Brown will feature a noticeable twist.
The regular satin finish has been replaced with PPG’s stunning gloss black and paired with Metamark’s colourful chrome highlights.
“Bathurst is such a fantastic event with a really passionate crowd, so it’s great to arrive with a fresh new look,” Penrite Oil’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Jarrod Harding said.
“Not only do both cars look incredible, but what better way to celebrate our return as reigning champions.
“It was important for us to mark last year’s milestone and this is a wonderful way of doing it – the current King of the Mountain wrapped in gold.”
The striking gold is sure to standout on Reynolds’ Holden, while the familiar scheme which has become synonymous with the Erebus Penrite liveries, has been reversed on De Pasquale’s entry.
It was confirmed in August that both team’s entries would be running under the Erebus Penrite Racing banner this weekend, as well as the upcoming Auckland SuperSprint and Newcastle 500.
“Both Anton and Will did a fantastic job at Sandown, especially as rookies, and we can’t wait to see what they can achieve this weekend on their 1000 debut,” Harding said.
The #99 duo will line up for their first ever Bathurst 1000 start, although De Pasquale took his first podium in the Bathurst 250 in 2016 while Brown scored fifth in the same race last October.
Reynolds and Youlden have 28 efforts between them, and head to Mount Panorama confident that their new-look will be seen at the front of the field.
“I’m calling it the golden child,” Reynolds laughed.
“It’s always special to have a new livery for the biggest race of the year, the car looks great and is sure to turn heads.
“Last year’s result was absolutely fantastic, and we head into this weekend more confident that we can deliver a good result.”
The squad produced an underdog triumph last year when Reynolds and Youlden combined to score an unbelievable win, and they are eager to do it again this weekend.
