Erebus Penrite Racing’s David Reynolds and Anton De Pasquale have both secured a spot in tomorrow’s Top Ten Shootout after qualifying at Mount Panorama today.

In a similar fashion to last year, Reynolds scored provisional second with a time of 2:04.2648.

It wasn’t until the checkered flag fell when the #9 driver pulled together the lap he had been threatening to do, jumping from sixth to second.

De Pasquale was the only rookie to make it into the top ten, his time of 2:04.6942 counting for ninth.

Their ultimate starting positions will be determined tomorrow with the Top Ten Shootout at 5:10pm local time.

David Reynolds:

“I think it’s a good omen, it’s the same spot we were in this time last year. I’m super happy with today and so glad it dried up and gave us an opportunity to show our pace. The engineers did a brilliant job taking an educated guess for setup based off what we had last year. Luke was speedy in his practice this morning, so I felt really good knowing we’d be able to give it a good crack.”

Anton De Pasquale:

“Getting to the Shootout with both cars was the first goal for the weekend ticked off. I have very limited running here so I felt a big relief afterward. I felt pretty stressed heading into it with no dry laps so far this weekend, but it turned out well. Every lap I was going faster and working out how I could push more so I am looking forward to another practice tomorrow morning and then getting stuck into it for the Shootout.”
