Erebus Motorsport has been awarded Supercars Golden Spanner Award at the Newcastle 500.

The award is presented to the team, judged by the Facebook fans, to be best on ground during the season.

The team were honoured to be the fan favourite’s best performing team for a second time this season.

“It’s been a big year,” Erebus’ CEO Barry Ryan said.

“It’s a nice way to cap it off, and to be recognised by the fans all the hard work the boys and girls have put in.”

The accolade is given twice throughout a season, once at Townsville and again this weekend, Erebus taking it out on both occasions.

Erebus has enjoyed a magnificent year including two wins, five podiums and four pole positions.

One driver, team and event will also be recognised by the fans for Most Popular Driver, Best Presented Team and Best Event at Monday’s annual end-of-season Gala.

The Gala also features two awards voted by the media – the Barry Sheene Medal and Mike Kable Young Gun who were won by Erebus’ David Reynolds and Will Brown last year.
