Supercars star Anton De Pasquale will join Sera Driver Development for the first time this weekend, as part of Erebus Academy’s new partnership.

De Pasquale is in Hunter Valley, NSW, for the second round of the 2019 Australian Kart Championship.

Almost 300 drivers representing every state in Australia, plus New Zealand, Singapore, Italy and Sri Lanka, will be at the event.

“It’s going to be the largest karting event in Newcastle in almost 20 years, so it’s great to be here and representing Erebus Academy,” De Pasquale said.

“The thrill of success on the track is exciting for anyone, but especially these youngsters, so it’s great to mentor them and help in any way I can.

“These kids are learning valuable driving techniques at such a young age and they can transfer into anything, whether that be on a race track or on the road.”

SDD/Erebus Academy drivers Marcus Pisani, 12, Jake Santalucia, 11, Miley Miller, 10, Riley Blaxell, 9, and William Calleja, 7, are all there hoping to follow in De Pasquale’s footsteps.

Practice kicked off today with Qualifying and heat races tomorrow, before the finals Sunday morning.
