Erebus Motorsport today unveiled the #999 livery that young gun Will Brown hopes will bring home a Super2 Championship.

For the first time since 2015, the Erebus name returned to track this morning at Winton Motor Raceway, in Brown’s first test of the black, silver and white Holden.

“How cool does the car look! I cannot wait for the season to start already!” Brown said upon unveiling the car.

“I can’t thank Betty and Barry enough. I’m so grateful for this opportunity. It’s going to be a massive year!

“I’ve always wanted to win the Super2 championship, I’ve won a lot of the other categories I’ve entered since go-karts.

“I think I’m in a good car this year with Image Racing, with Erebus backing, I think it’s going to be my best chance I’ll ever get to do that.”

2020 marks the first time that Erebus Motorsport has run a car in the Super2 Series.

Team owner Betty Klimenko couldn’t contain her delight at the return of the Erebus name to pit-lane and is excited to see Brown take the mantle to contest for Erebus Motorsport’s maiden title.

“It’s mine and Daniel’s baby. We have had uniforms made with Triple 9 on them,” Klimenko said.

“I want to spend a bit of my time over at Super2 with Will and because the car is Erebus and I haven’t seen a car out there that says Erebus for a while, it’s really special.

“Will is an exceptional young driver. He has been with our team as a co-driver with Anton for the past two seasons as well as competing in Super2 and winning the TCR Championship. He’s shown he is willing to work hard. He has fitted so easily into the family. He’s basically a mini David.”

In further testament to the confidence the team has in Brown’s attack on the title, long-time partner CRC Industries has moved its support over to the Super2 car, following three seasons on the #9 and #99 entries.

They are joined by DBA Brakes, Metamark and Coca Cola who will remain with the main game cars whilst carrying their support over to Brown’s Super2 car.

Brown will contest his fourth season in Super2 this year, as well as sharing co-driver duties with David Reynolds in Supercars’ Enduro Cup.

The 2020 Super2 Series kicks off next week at the Superloop Adelaide 500, from 20-23 February.
