Erebus Motorsport’s Will Brown has secured another two top ten’s in the Top End today, while teammate Brodie Kostecki struggled with bad luck.

Race 13

At the start, Will got away well from fifth as the field tried to navigate their way through the first lap.

Brodie made a superb start from P23 and after the second lap he was past two cars, slotting into P21. The Erebus Boost Mobile Commodore then made a move David Reynolds to make it inside the top 20, before pitting as early as lap five.

Will settled into 7th before taking his compulsory stop earlier than planned at the end of lap eight in an attempt to get clean air.

The young duo did a great job and were right on the pace right up until the checkered flag. Will ultimate finished 8th, while Brodie was the biggest mover, up eight spots in P15.

Race 14

Will again made a solid start in the day’s second race though dropped two spots as he tried to steer clear of the opening lap madness.

Further down, Brodie impressed from P21, making up a number of spots before Turn 1. He was unfortunately sent into a spin at the hairpin though and was sent back to last before the end of the opening lap.

His bad luck continued when contact happened between the #99 and Jack Smith a few laps later, with Brodie handed a 15-second penalty for the incident.

Will pit as soon as the lane opened on lap five, before his teammate took his stop on lap nine, serving his penalty also.

Brodie, though showing tremendous race pace, couldn’t recover the time lost and ultimately finished P24 at the end of the 38-laps.

Will continued to fight and in turn set the fastest lap of the race – a 1:07.1903 – on his way to securing his third top ten result of the weekend.

The team now have three weeks to prepare for their next round at the NTI Townsville 500, July 9 – 11.
