Today marked the conclusion of the Super2/3 Championship with Erebus Academy’s Jay Robotham and Reef McCarthy finishing at opposite ends of their respective fields.

Initially qualifying P4, Jay was reverted to the back of the grid when Race 2 qualifying was revoked after multiple safety cars prevented the majority of the field from. While this negativity impacted Jay, the decision benefitted Reef who was elevated to P1.

Both drivers had decent starts and managed to avoid Jayden Ojeda and Tyler Everingham who took each other out right before turn one resulting. This resulted in Jay gaining two positions right before the first safety car was deployed.

As racing resumed on lap three, Jay gained a position while Reef started to build a gap between himself and Nash Morris. On lap five, Jay had a lock up and lost all the positions he gained after running into the grass. Meanwhile, Reef was continuing to build a gap and was running five seconds ahead of Morris by lap seven.

Unfortunately on the following lap, Jay had another lock up but this time found himself trapped in the gravel, resulting in a second safety car that lasted for the following two laps.

The drama continued as a third safety car was deployed shortly after the race resumed on lap 10. Racing under a safety car for the next two laps, the race was eventually called as they crossed the line for lap 13.

Reef managed to hold onto his starting position, securing his first Super3 win of the season. Meanwhile, although running a lap down Jay still managed to finish the race and crossed the line in P12.

In what was both of their debut seasons in their respective categories, Jay finished up 12th in the Super2 Championship, while Reef McCarthy concluded the Super3 Championship in 3rd.
