Boost Mobile Racing powered by Erebus’ Will Brown has turned his best qualifying effort of 2022 into his best finish of the season, claiming 4th in today’s Sandown opener.

Off the line, the #9 racer got a brilliant start from 3rd on the grid. Will got away quickly, forcing Shane van Gisbergen to block from the front row.

Brodie also didn’t waste any time, moving into the top ten from P14 by the end of the opening lap. He then continued to climb, moving up to 8th by lap two.

The pit window opened on lap five though it wasn’t until mid-race when both Boost Mobile drivers pit.

Will stopped on lap 16 for two fresh rear tyres though unfortunately lost a spot to Anton De Pasquale who opted for the undercut, pitting a few laps earlier.

Brodie stopped three laps later for the same super-soft rubber, making it two from two perfect pit stops by the crew.

When the field cleansed with 12 laps to go, Will sat 4th while Brodie fought for a spot inside the top ten.

Cam Waters, who was on 6-lap fresher rubber, tried hard to get by #9 Holden at the end, though Will wouldn’t let him have it and held him off to finish 4th at the finish.

Brodie wasn’t far behind and finished just outside the ten in P11.

The team now prepare for two back-to-back qualifying sessions tomorrow morning followed by two sprint races.
