Erebus Motorsport will undertake an evaluation day at Winton Motor Raceway this Wednesday with Erebus Academy driver Jay Hanson and fellow Super2 racer Cooper Murray taking the reins.

The #9 Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus Camaro will be utilised for the evaluation day, with driver Will Brown on hand to provide support and guidance to Hanson and Murray.

Erebus CEO Barry Ryan is pleased to be able to provide this opportunity to the young drivers, while also gaining valuable knowledge of the Gen3 vehicle.

“We’re glad to have the opportunity to give Jay and Cooper the chance to test these new cars,” Ryan said.

“We’ve run these evaluation days in the past and they’ve been really beneficial with the right drivers and we believe that Jay and Cooper are at the right point in their careers to show us what they’re capable of and we’ll be trusting their feedback.

“It gives us the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the Gen3 cars away from the race meetings.”

Not only does an evaluation day allow the team to provide opportunities to young drivers, it also allows for feedback on the car without using up crucial official test days.

“Our intention for our two remaining test days is to do them closer to the enduro events,” Ryan said.

“It’s important heading into Sandown and Bathurst to really focus on the co-drivers and maximise their seat time closer to those race meetings.”

Hanson and Murray will return to the track for Round 3 of the Dunlop Series at the Townsville SuperSprint, 7 – 9 July.
