Brodie Kostecki and David Russell have claimed Erebus’ first Sandown 500 podium with P2, as their teammates Will Brown and Jack Perkins just missed out, securing fourth.

The current Championship leader and his vastly experienced co-driver drove faultlessly all day, and was never seriously troubled, after starting from the front row.

The only bump in the road came on lap 20 when Dave was forced to double-stack behind his teammate as the first Safety Car was deployed.

He drove the wheels off it to get it back from P11 to P4 before handing the #99 over to Brodie on lap 56.

Will and Jack were also dominate all day after starting from pole position, and comfortably sat inside the top three for majority of the race.

A late Safety Car period with 20 laps to go brought the field back together, as Brodie and Will went maximum attack for the final laps.

With 5 laps to go it was all but done as Will made a small but costly error. The #9 pilot hit a gear too many on the downshift and shot off the grass, giving away P3 to Shane van Gisbergen.

Brodie and Dave’s result sees the #99 carry an extended 155-point Championship lead into Bathurst, while Erebus remain on top of the team’s points.
