Erebus Academy driver Jobe Stewart will be tackling tonight’s Supercars Pro Eseries opener in the same livery Will Brown donned at this year’s season opener.
Brown made his main game debut back in February at the Mt Panorama 500, where the globally recognised brand WD-40 took pride of place. Their iconic blue and yellow branding featured across the bonnet, doors and boot.
It was an eye-opening debut for the young rookie, who suffered a heavy crash at the Dipper midway through the opening practice.
Sitting third on the time sheets prior to the incident, Brown showed significant pace throughout the weekend even with a damaged car.
Following an overnight repair effort from the team, car #9 was back out on track the next morning with Brown finishing with a best of 14th for the weekend.
Throughout the Eseries, Stewart’s #9 livery will mimic the rolling sponsorship program that has run on Brown’s Commodore across the Championship thus far.
“It’s super cool to be running the same car that Will ran to kick off his first season in the main game,” Stewart said.
“I’m super keen to represent WD-40 in the first round, I just hope I don’t scratch up the paint like Will did at Bathurst.”
Tonight will see Brown’s teammate Brodie Kostecki tackle Charlotte Motor Speedway in the All Stars field, while Stewart and Jarrad Filsell will represent Erebus Motorsport in the Pro Series at the Red Bull Ring.
The Supercars Eseries kicks off tonight at 7:00pm AEST and will be broadcast live via Facebook, Twitch, Youtube, Fox Sports, Kayo, 7 Plus and SKY.
