Erebus Motorsport has revealed the Boost Mobile backed next-generation NASCAR Brodie Kostecki will run in this week’s round of the Supercars All Stars Eseries.

Currently sitting third in the Championship, Kostecki shifts from his regular Holden Commodore to the NASCAR-spec Chevrolet Camaro as he heads to Daytona International Speedway.

For both Boost Mobile and Kostecki, the NASCAR world is one familiar to them.

Boost Mobile had a taste of the American-style racing back in 2011 and 2012, serving as the primary sponsor for 17-times X Games medalist Travis Pastrana.

Pastrana made his debut in the #99 Boost Mobile NASCAR, competing in the Toyota All-Star Showdown, K&N Pro Series and Nationwide Series across the two years.

Similarly, Kostecki took on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2013 after excelling in the USAC Ford Focus Series, winning three national championships and scoring 27 victories.

Having had his fair share of oval experience in the past, Kostecki is looking forward to driving a NASCAR in the virtual world. 

“NASCAR was definitely the path I wanted to go down, it was something I always wanted to do as a kid,” he said. 

“I raced in the K&N Pro Series, I only had one full time year and it was a bit up and down but I was able to capture a couple of poles and get a top five in my last event which was pretty cool.

“I definitely learnt a lot in the series and it’s pretty cool to be racing in a NASCAR again, even if it’s just on the sim.”

Kostecki’s NASCAR-inspired design was created by fan and avid sim-racer Paul Mansell, who has helped the virtual team behind-the-scenes since early last year.

The orange and black livery is just one of hundreds of designs Mansell has created on iRacing’s custom car painting platform, Trading Paints.

Kostecki will hit the virtual track tonight with qualifying streamed live on Facebook, Twitch and Youtube from 7:00pm EST, as well as racing coverage broadcast on Fox Sports, Kayo, 7 Plus and Sky NZ from 7:30pm AEST.
