Erebus Motorsport’s Brodie Kostecki will sport a new look on his Boost Mobile Commodore when racing resumes at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

The latest look will make its first appearance at the first of four back-to-back events in Sydney, and will be carried for the remainder of the 2021 Supercars season.

The livery, on a customary black PPG base and wrapped in Metamark film, runs parallel to the team’s wildcard design for New Zealand duo Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway, swapping out the kiwi for a kangaroo.

“At Boost Mobile we have always been about the fans, the entertainment and supporting drivers and teams in a sport that we love,” Boost Mobile Founder Peter Adderton said.

“There are many great stories about the ongoing battle between Australian and New Zealand drivers and to see who comes out on top at Bathurst is one of them.

“We’ve had some fun with the liveries on both #51 and #99 and it’s great to see them come to life.”

Both Erebus Boost Mobile liveries highlight the trans-tasman relations between Australia and New Zealand and the constant banter that has forever taken place between Kiwis and Aussies.

“It’s always exciting to see a new livery, particularly seeing the two Erebus Boost Commodores side by side,” Kostecki said.

“It’s great to see the two liveries paying homage to our home countries, but everyone knows that kangaroos are faster than kiwis so hopefully  we’ll see that on track.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car today, and then getting stuck into four back-to-back weekends of racing.

“There is no better way to prepare for the biggest race of the year.

“This will be my third Bathurst 1000 with Boost so it’s awesome to have had their support along my journey and I can’t thank them enough.”

The new livery continues the Melbourne-based squads theme of one-off liveries featuring the Australian flag.

“We’ve had some brilliant Australian-themed liveries before, particularly at Bathurst,” Erebus CEO Barry Ryan said.

“The kangaroo and the kiwi are both national emblems, and highlight our country’s patriotism.

“It’s not only going to set up an exciting battle between our Aussie and Kiwi drivers, but give the fans something to get behind.”

Kosteckki will turn his first laps in the new-look Boost Mobile Commodore at Winton Motor Raceway today, as Erebus Motorsport tests before heading north for this weekend’s Sydney SuperNight.

The highly-anticipated event will be followed by three consecutive rounds before the season finale at Mount Panorama, November 30 – December 5.
