Erebus Motorsport driver’s Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki have raised a whopping $24,900 for flood-affected communities overnight.
The duo started the fundraiser yesterday, auctioning off branding space on both of their helmets.
Erebus team owner Betty Klimenko also pledged to match the donations, bringing the total donation to $49,800.
Both Kostecki and Brown’s helmet space was purchased by Melbourne based property development and building company, JMC Group.
“It’s fantastic to be able to give back and really cool to see that JMC Group actually brought both of them as they have been long time supporters of Brodie and I,” Brown said.
“We’re very fortunate to be here racing while other people are doing it tough so we’re really proud to be able to do something to help out this weekend,” Brown said.
“It’s fantastic to see so much support and so many people wanting to help the flood victims,” Kostecki added.
“When I went to bed last night the auctions were both sitting at $3000, so waking up and seeing so many people bidding and wanting to give back to the community is awesome”
“A big thank you to Phil from Creative Works for supplying the decals for the helmets.”
JMC Group are heartbroken to see what the people of Queensland and New South Wales are going through and would like to thank the pair for initiating such a wonderful cause.
JMC Group branding will be visible on both driver helmets as they head out for qualifying at 2.45PM AEDT today.
