Boost Mobile Racing powered by Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki has scored the team’s best result in the Top End today, claiming 11th in the Darwin Triple Crown opener.
When the lights went out at the start, Brodie got away well from P13, though Will Brown’s start from P16 was fractionally quicker.
Picking up two places in the opening lap, Will was looking to steal some spots early on.
The #9 pilot went to follow his teammate past Chris Pither, though clashed on the way through Turn 7 on lap 3. Will suffered from front-left damage and pit for repairs, though with time running out to complete the required amount of laps, he was forced to retire from the race on lap 12.
With all eyes now on Brodie in P11, he was called to pit at the end of lap 14 for rear tyres only. The crew carried out a speedy stop and Brodie was swiftly sent on his way.
Brodie broke into the top ten on lap 25, though with Cam Waters trailing behind on fresher super-soft rubber, he couldn’t hold onto it.
With ten laps left to run, the order settled and after 38 laps Brodie crossed the line in 11th.
The team now prepare for back-to-back qualifying sessions tomorrow ahead of another two races.
