Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki has claimed Pole Position in an epic Top Ten Shootout lap at the Bathurst 1000.
Having continually set the pace across the weekend, the Championship leader put down a 2:04.2, nearly five tenths faster than the second place sitter.
The 0.4830s margin is the biggest Bathurst 1000 pole-winning margin since Greg Murphy’s ‘Lap of the Gods’ back in 2003.
The lap also marks Brodie’s maiden Bathurst 1000 pole position and the second pole claimed at the Mountain for Erebus Motorsport.
Brodie and his co-driver David Russell will compete for the Peter Brock Trophy as the Bathurst 1000 commences at 11.15AM AEDT tomorrow morning.
