Brodie Kostecki has clinched the 2023 Drivers Championship, crossing the finish line in 6th in the Adelaide opener today.
The Champion started from pole position and kept his cool during the 78-laps, running under the radar and doing only what he needed to, to get the job done.
His teammate Will Brown unfortunately watched from the sidelines, after major damage on the opening lap took him out of the hunt.
Both cars got away well, though Will was forced wide at Turn 4 by Anton De Pasquale, who then nudged him into the wall and ended the #9’s race.
The team’s focus switched to the sole car from then, with Brodie the first driver since 1996, and only the fourth in history, to win a Championship in the same year he won his first race
Both cars will be back on track tomorrow for Qualifying and the Top Ten Shootout, ahead of the season’s final race at 2:45pm local time.
